today has been somewhat of a long day. krispin started coughing yesterday. scott started to complain a little of a sore throat last night. and i woke up with a headache this morning. however, krispin did manage to sleep through the night, so that was a little bit of a benefit. even though he wasn't feeling well today krispin managed to grow his vocabulary some. he can now say simple verbs like 'go', 'eat', 'read', 'run.' this morning he asked me in his simple, yet to-the-point way if he could color. i told him to go get his coloring book, as he has been known to color walls (what 2 year-old hasn't done that?). he went and pulled his coloring book from the shelf, brought it back to me and stated, 'here it is!' the first time 3 words came out of his mouth in a row that belonged together! well this afternoon, he added a second surprise to the day. when scott came home from work, he asked me for a kiss hello. krispin decided to follow suit, and ran up to me saying 'kiss?' how sweet is that? now if only he will add the word 'please' in a verbal way, we'll be all set. he still insists on signing 'please' - the only sign he still uses. that word has been known to come forth from his mouth, however.
on the job front, we've yet to hear anything from either the upper darby front, or from the church in richmond. we suspect to be hearing something from richmond sooner, rather than later, as its been 3 1/2 weeks. they did tell scott that it would be several weeks before we heard anything further. so, the summer is slowly passing. we continue to pray that we will have joy in the waiting. some days that is easier said then done, however. God does continue to provide us with grace, whether we choose to have our eyes open to that in the moment, or not.
