friends and a haircut

this past week was full of saying goodbye to loved ones and friends. krispin also had a haircut, which he happens to enjoy - mimicking the sound of the hairclippers.... brrrmmmm. we said goodbye to my sister, Elizabeth, who is headed to memphis, tn for 6 months. a close friend and former roommate of mine, Amy Sterrett, is headed to st. louis, mo for 4 yrs or so with her family. we said goodbye to them, as well. bittersweet times for me. i'm also beginning to learn what i say around my son. he is starting to say 'gosh' when amazed by something. he is also becoming the political pundit - pointing out pictures of Barack Obama wherever we go - exclaiming 'O-mama!' i don't quite know what to make of his political choice. maybe he'll influence me in the end. who knows?
